​ Dr. Okai was born in Tokyo, Japan in 1964 and spent most of his childhood in Fukuoka City. He went to Boston to attend University of Massachusetts / Boston in 1984 and moved to Orange County to attend Los Angeles College of Chiropractic in 1988.

 

 He started his career as an associate doctor in Southern California in 1992 and opened his own practice in San Mateo, CA in 1995. He opened his second clinic in San Jose, CA in 2001.

 He married in 1992 and has two grown children and two toy poodles.

​

 Dr. Okai wrote his own columns in two local Japanese community magazines for over 20 years.

​

​ In Japan, he also has his column page in Chiro-Journal Magazine over 15 years and published chiropractic books and DVDs. Dr. Okai is invited to Japan twice a year for his seminars and hosting chiropractic events. He has been doing this for over 15 years. He is one of the most well-known chiropractor in Japan.
